Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promptly welcome customers when they arrive with a professional and courteous manner

  • Assist guests with food and nutritional menu inquiries and making helpful menu suggestions based on guest preferences and dietary needs

  • Accurately input orders through the POS system and carefully process payments while handling cash and interact transactions

  • Acquire strong knowledge of all Butternut products and corresponding dietary information

  • Restock baked goods counter, display fridge, and retail shelves according to merchandizing training and company standards

  • Assist with wholesale packing and operations

  • Receive orders and confirm receipt and check quantities of each invoiced item that is delivered

  • Communicate with the Front of House Manager and Kitchen Manager to provide a seamless experience for customers

  • Check for quality assurance of all products being sold including retail and wholesale

  • Ensure that all opening and closing duties of the bakery are completed correctly and that cleanliness and maintenance are maintained daily

  • Maintain inventory system for front of house supplies, retail goods, and baked goods

  • Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanliness and supporting other team members when needed

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate effectively, respectfully and work well with others in a team based environment

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as required

  • Ability to stand for 8-9 hr shifts and to safely lift up to 50lbs 

  • Food handlers certificate is an asset but not required

  • Must be eligible for employment in Canada

  • Must speak english fluently

  • Interest in the health + wellness community and/or knowledge about Paleo/natural baking (a major plus, but not mandatory!)

Position

Part-time, 16-34 hrs weekly with option to transition to Full-time role (35-44 hrs weekly) as store operating hours increase during pandemic re-opening plan

Availability: weekends and open availability 2 weeks prior to every major holiday
